The Nitro Live Icecreamery Uses Liquid Nitrogen to Bring Dessert & a Show to Gilbert

Gilbert-based Company Opens First of Four Arizona Locations Scheduled for This Year

GILBERT, Ariz. (April 3, 2018) — In less than 90 seconds, East Valley residents can enjoy ice cream made right before their eyes now that The Nitro Live Icecreamery has opened at the northwest corner of Cooper and Warner Roads in Gilbert.

The Nitro Live Icecreamery uses liquid nitrogen to flash freeze ice cream to order, which not only results in a creamier texture, but also allows the restaurant to accommodate a wide variety of allergies and dietary restrictions.

“All of our seven bases are gluten free; our original cream base is most popular, but we also offer vegan (coconut milk), lactose free and no sugar added options so every customer can enjoy a frozen treat,” said Felicia Vandermolen, The Nitro Live Icecreamery’s chief executive officer. “Additionally, we publish a full list of ingredients for every base, flavor and mix-in on our website, making the experience safer for customers with food allergies.”

Using liquid nitrogen also allows The Nitro Live Icecreamery’s nitrologists to freeze each order to customers’ specifications—accommodating people who prefer a softer ice cream as easily as those who prefer a firmer texture. Moreover, because everything is frozen on the spot, The Nitro Live Icecreamery has a smaller carbon footprint; each location has only one refrigerator and one freezer for storing ingredients.

The Gilbert location, which has its grand opening on Friday, April 6, from 3 to 11 p.m., is the first of four locations planned for Arizona in 2018; stores in Mesa (Gilbert and Baseline), southeast Gilbert (Higley and Chandler Heights) and San Tan Valley (Ironwood and Ocotillo) are scheduled to open within the next six months.
